The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions to the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency claimed it's alarmed concerning the significant quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your high quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office devoted to service the area on a daily basis. The services level designed for intervention activities a substantial inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it challenging to the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA here will mobilise much more resources to enable the servicing of all prospects and maximize use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
